Common little fellas they are! This taken at the weekend at my local nature reserve.

D300 + Sigma 300-800 @800mm
1/640sec at f8 +1/3 EV (This lens tends to under exposure a tad)
ISO 200 tripod mounted with gimbal head.

About 90% of full frame as cropped for square.

cheers for looking

Hi Colin,

This really is very nice, exposure is spot on and the detail in the blacks is very good, top work.

Very nice shot with lots of impact. The red eye, and the contact is great.

Cheers,

Dan.

Very fine exposure of a sometimes difficult subject, but you handled it very well. Great detail
in the blacks without losing the hilights and the eye contact is exceptional, congrats!!!

Brilliant exposure! Great eye contact, really detailed, the colour of the water really compliments too!

The exposure in the blacks is fab Colin. Just find the double catchlight in the eye a bit distracting
