Shrine Ridge
I took a little trip up to Shrine Ridge, took the hikning trail and the lower "road", I am seriously out of shape so I couldn't go very far before I lost the lighting, but I found a good spot (In my opinion) with a good view of the gore Mountains.

This photo it looks a little hazy on the left side of the mountains but there was moisture falling from the clouds at this spot when I took this, also let me know if this is too dark

I also have this, initially I wanted the flowers in the foreground, but after looking at the photo I am not too sure, I don't think the flowers in the lower right work, do you guys have some advice as to whether this will work and what kind of cropping you would suggest

Paul,

I like the first alot. I think it could use a couple minor things, but I like the way the light flows in from the left and the collection of paintbrushes in the foreground. If you could lower the brightness of the sky and increase the brightness of the foreground just a touch it would really put a nice finishing touch on it.

I think your assessment of the second one is good. The flowers in the LRC feel dislocated to me.

The first one is a sweet shot, Paul. As you suggest, it's too dark. The upper parts look fine; the middle and foreground could use some brightening and probably some additional contrast. Compositionally, it's nice as you have it, though a little more sky would be nice, especially since you have some sweet clouds and light up there.

The second one isn't working so well for me. My eye wanders around the frame looking for a subject.

Love the first shot, but I agree with Rick about the middle foreground -- the evergreen trees look nearly black on my monitor and would benefit from a bit of brightening. The second shot is a great idea but doesn't work for me.

Out of curiosity, how long ago were these taken?

these photos were taken last night

First one has more power than the second, but they're both good. I'd still work on the post processing. First looks a bit yellow (but I'm on an uncal'd monitor). both are dark, and I'd lighten the foregrounds in both.

Like the first one a lot; comments above pretty much echo my feelings on it.
