Hi,

Another from a weekend of constantly battling with DoF and subject movement as the subject was blown in and out of the viewfinder.

A lot of these day flying moths around....

All the best

Phil

This made me laugh Phil, my post is a few seconds after yours........see what I wrote.
Lovely detail in the moth and I like the way the leafs add to the image, perhaps a slight more diagonal with the stem?

Hi Phil, excellent work considering the conditions, lovely comp, detail is superb and that BG is so smooth, one of my favourite moths.

Very nice indeed Phil, your specimen is in better shape than mine - is mating a vigorous affair with these guys? The wings on both the ones I shot looked a little less pristine.

My only nit with yours is the DOF - they have fantastic antennae, perhaps try a few with f11+ next time? And yes it will mean shooting at higher ISOs with the breeze, but the 40D (most Canons really) manages noise so well. Just a thought...
