I returned to the Snowy Range in southern Wyoming last weekend in hopes of getting some additional pics of the incredible columbine bloom going on there this year. There is a hillside along the Lakes Trail that is covered in literally hundreds of blue columbine. This shot was pretty contrasty so I dialed it back somewhat during processing. Now I'm wondering if I went to far.
I agree with John's comments - lots of potential, but the processing feels off, though nothing dramatic - just a little underexposed.
I pulled it into PS and and a simple levels adjustment (dragging the whitepoint to the left, to a value of around 230) got it very close to what I'd envision for the scene. Made the brights bright, left the darks where they are, which also resulted in more natural contrast.
