Makes a Change
Greater Spotted Woodpecker
Had great fun with this woody coming in to land on this thin perch. Makes a nice change from the usual i thought.
Taken through the kitchen window. The strange light is backlight and reflection off the white house walls.

yes, not a view of a GSW I've ever seen before John. Nice to see the tail feathers. A nice shot.

A very different take on the usual GSW shot and as Matt says, it's nice to see the tail feathers, like it loads John.

Hi John,

Good shot. Especially the branch coming from the left and leaving at the top.
Wel done. :toast:

Nice one John. Appaerntly the tail feathers are stiffer / stronger than normal ones so they can use them to lean back against the tree trunks
