I was wondering if I could get suggestions on how to attach a name/Exhibitors tag to the back of a mounted exhibition entry. I have learned so much from you guys at this site, including finding a wonderful printing company (White House Custom Colour) and everything from the basics of photography... to where I am now which is ready to submit my first entry into the Kentucky State Fair. My question is this. I need to attach a card (with string) to the back upper right hand side of the mounted photograph. I guess I could use regular tape, but I was concerned it may fall off. I do have double sided tape (it seems to be extremely sticky) and was thinking about using that, but I thought I would see what the professionals here had to say. Anyway, any help/ideas are very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, without the help from npn and it's members this would never have been possible for me, while I realize it is only a state fair, I does mean alot to be able to participate in the exhibition this year.

Mary, you should be able to buy heavy-stock tags that already come with string or wire mounted, and can then just wrap the string/wire around the shaft of a small screw (like the ones that come with D-rings for picture hanging) before tightening it down. The tags I've seen are big enough for info to be printed on them, quite a bit larger than those little stringed price tags. Not sure where to find them, but I see them in greenhouses/nurseries a lot around the trunks of small trees for sale. They might be available through office/retail supply stores.

If you can't find those, you could take a length of the lightest picture hanging wire (or use a piece of light solid-strand craft wire) wrap it tightly around the shaft of the screw a few times and then install the screw. A center punch will give you a good round hole in the tag, and if the tag is heavier stock than than regular paper you should be OK tying the end of the wire off through the hole.

The latter is quite a fair amount of rigamarole.
