Wanted you guys to be the first to know, i entered two of my Photo Art pieces in the State Fair (both have previously been displayed in the PA gallery), one was awarded First Place, and the other a Juror's award!

Everyone here at NPN has helped me enormously over the past couple years, but for these works i especially want to thank ex-PA moderator Danny Young (who has dissapeared, wish i could track him down) for giving me the idea for the winning piece, and also Rene Pirolt and Eirk Stensland. Rene printed the piece, and Erik and Rene hooked me up with Artist's Showcase--they did the mounting. To you guys- :toast:
Speaking of which, will i use the prize $ for a new lens? No, it will go toward more beer of course!

Congratulations, Stan. Send us a pointer of that winning image if you can.

Danny is still listed as the PA&S Moderator and I know you can send him an eMail.

Thanks, guys! No link, but i guess i can post the original jpegs: here's Sunrise at Ute Pass (which i adapted from my snowshoe trek up at Ute Pass this past winter) The piece is several feet wide, and i raised the middle panel to create a 3D effect.

This is 'Winter Relativity', my ode to Dali & Escher, another 36" piece based off a winter snow scene (and a dog i shot at Deweese Res last winter in Westcliffe!)

Wow - very creative work, Stan. I thought motion blur was a little trippy - these are over the top! Congrats on the well-deserved awards (and excellent judgment on use of the prize money  )
