a terrible image i know, but one i am determined to get closeup one day. i've observed our population of ravens here doing this regularly, they will swing from one point along the wind and back again, and roll before their directional change, at the same time letting out their barking call. here you can see the roll and the open beak during mid call. they don't call whilst they are between the two points.
it's quite heartwarming to watch them doing this, as i assume it is some kind of play, as opposed to any kind of courtship as they do it all year round, and in any location, so i'm presuming they just like to play when they find the right conditions.
not really an image for critique as i know it's pretty ordinary in esposure/comp/bg, just thought some would find it interesting.
Hi Mark,
Thanks for sharing and a well caught moment it is too.
I shall now keep a look out for the this behaviour next time I'm out for a stroll along my local coastal path.

Hi Mark,
Excellent behaviour to have caught on camera. Reckon they are practising their Peregrine evasion moves !!!!
