A friend of mine has asked me if there were a commercially available photo box for making images of glass. She wants to illuminate the glass from the bottom with 2 sides a back and a top of black material. The glass will not be illuminated from the outside at all.

If any of you know of any source for such an item please let me know.

Thanks,
Ed

Ed - Is this for display as well? Or just photos? If it's just photos, it seems like a fairly easy thing to make yourself. This page shows a setup that isn't exactly what you describe, but seems to be along those lines (and as usual for simple lighting things, I turn to Strobist first. )

You could also get some black fabric - felt or velvet to be as flat (lighting wise) as possible - and wrap it around cardboard or some other type of foam board.

David, I spoke to her RE making one. The company, Corning Inc. apparently wants to buy one for its' use as well as having 2 other examples for an undisclosed purpose. I told her if it were me I would make one for under $100. However she wanted to know if a commercial use.
