This photo was made during our shoot-fest in late July at the 9.200 foot level on the west side of Sonora Pass.

This image is from a Fuji 160Pro-S color negative. Aside from a slight levels adjustment and USM, no other corrections have been applied. I wanted to post this in its (nearly) raw state for Harley, since he asked how this film worked for me.

I really like this film! The only downside is that I have to (at least) do a prescan to see what I have. It will be intersting to see how it prints. I'll be sure to have a stash of it on hand from now on!

I used my Microtek 1880-f and Silverfast AI for the scan.

Your thoughts are always appreciated.

Preston, I like what I see here. I know your point is not entirely focused on the overall time of day, composition, etc., as much as maybe the dynamic range of the film over transparencies and true color rendition. With that all said, looking into the depth of the shadows, and then any possible blown highlights is the key no doubt, along with the true color of course. From that respect, it all looks like it does a really nice job to me. Heck, this is without any tweaking too..... :jump:

Preston,

This looks quite natural and I can see what the extended range is bringing to the table; especially in the shadows of the grassy clusters in the LR. As well, the color of the rock and vegatation up top look spot on. This looks very much what I would expect Astia to look like. The only thing I have a question on is the color of the water - it's like I'm expecting something different - this is very "silvery." I remember we had clear skies for 3 days so should the water and rocks in the LLC be more blue?

Aesthetically and compositionally, I really like it. I like the rocks in the corner and I think this is well balanced. Not sure where this was taken, must have been while I was off by myself that one afternoon.

Glad to see you got your stuff back. Hope to see more.

nice to see that lush vegetation. I have got to get out more.

Thanks, Preston. Looks like nice film. Any images with sky in them taken with NPS? Curious how it looks. I don't like Astia or Provia blue skies. I am looking forward to seeing more posts with that film.

Nice little garden. I am not sure where you made this, either. I don't recall this spot. Then again, there are a lot of things I don't recall.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Funny, I don't remember where or exactly when I shot this, but it may have been in late afternoon on that Saturday.

Harley, I don't have any images with sky included. That's sort of next on my list to try with this film.

This photo has a nice soft touch. Dunno if it's the film or the photographer, but there's something different. I think it's how the water turned out.

Very nice Preston, beautiful colors and soft light, much more to my liking than the sage in sunlight image :toast:
