Tree creeper
With recent postings by NPN members this seems rather drab :frown:

Not drab in the slightest IMO but a very nice image. I personally get as much pleasure in seeing a good image of a common subject as much as something a little scarcer or more exotic, in fact probably more so as it's perhaps easier to relate to the species and the effort gone into phographing it.

A great bird and I like the graduated background. Only thing to watch is you have some quite significant colour banding in the background.

Very nice shot Stephen as Justin says we cant all be shooting exoctia all the time, I have never managed to get close enough to a tree creeper to get any kind of halfway decent shot :frown: Only nit already covered.

Beautifully crisp shot of a bird that I have rarely seen and never this close. There could be a slight blue cast, although I'm not viewing it on my home monitor.

Hi guys, the banding/blue cast in the BG that you are referring to is a variation in scrubs. There might be some noise re the low speed etc (?). Shot late in the afternoon in the Cairngorms.

I hope this clarifies, if not please can you expand on your thoughts.

cheers
Steve

Nice shot Stephen, can't help with the banding re the BG, but the blue cast is throughout the image.

Andy...

Great little birds these Stephen and know way are they drab.
Well caught, but perhaps a little large in the frame. I to can see the blue cast throughout.

Major.

Nice one... definately a bluish cast that is easily corrected...

nice shot, like the captured detail in the wings and underbelly, blue cast as already mentioned, but easily corrected in PS or other photo editor.

cheers

Good detail on the bird Stephen and a difficult subject (well it is if any of my attempts are anything to go by). Agree with nits mentioned above.

From what I understand these guys are very hard to get shots of. You've captured it beautifully doing what a tree-creeper does! Nits covered

Hi Stephen
You're too modest - this is not a drab shot at all! You've created a cracking shot of a lovely little bird. I'd love this sort of opportunity to photograph a tree creeper.
My only problem with the image is that you don't seem to have made the most of it in processing - there appears to be a lot more dynamic range in the image that hasn't been brought out. The beauty of digital is that you get to try again!
Nice shot, cheers, Chris

Sometimes you just don't see it! Thanks guys, lets hope all the buttons & sliders are pressed in the correct order :wavey:
