When i heard thunder late in the afternoon yesterday, i headed out the door as quickly as possible--lightning photo ops have been pretty sparse so far this summer. I got to an open area a bit too late for the opening show, but as one of the storms headed east i managed to grab this lucky shot of a double rainbow and lighning strike. Unfortunately at 1/10 s i missed a couple better blots.
By the time i got back home, just a short drive away, the storm was still going so i took a few last shots (unfortunately the wires got in the way from this vantage point)

Nice stuff Stan. I thought about doing the same thing last night with a storm that fired up on the east side of COS.

Right place, right time. Glad you were there to capture it!
That first one is ultra rare....I just love it!

Way cool on that first shot. Good timing considering the faster shutter speed.

Nice work Stan. I love the colors on the 2nd one.

1 and 2 are pretty nice. They all illustrate some awesome storm power. Nice.

These are all very nice. Looks like quite the storm. I might crop / clone out the fence / telephone lines in 2 & 4, as they are distracting.
Come to think of it, I notice you recently posted a link to an article about picture faking. Then, you manage to capture a double rainbow and lighning bolt? Coincidence? Hmmmm.

Stan,
These are great. The clouds in the second one are amazing!
Number 1 is the best because of the combination of elements along with enough light on the landscape that says you have lightning like reflexes or you are using the Lightning Trigger. Great shots all, but #1 is #1.
