Piggybacking on Stan's storm post...
I was out shooting last night, too. Funny how similar Stan's and my rainbow shots look, even though we were miles apart. I didn't get any lightning of significance in my rainbow shot like he did. Well done!

The sunset last night was incredible, and even better tonight. I hope Stan was out capturing it tonight, too. I was an election judge all day, and had enough time to rush home, grab the camera bag, and just not have enough time to get somewhere good to shoot. It was fun to watch, though.

This shot is from last night, when the recently set sun was still casting a bit of glow on the clouds. This is a two-minute exposure.

Awesome shot, Todd! The movement in the clouds is an extra bonus. I'd have serious noise issues with a two minute exposure, even with noise reduction--is there any trick to reduce this??
I wish i could have been out shooting at sunset tonight, but was playing my usual guitar gig tonight. Very pretty even from downtown pueblo tho!

I did not think the Cloud Man would be able to resist! Nice shot Todd. This evenings sunset was pretty awesome but of course my camera was ten miles away!

Wow - spectacular! Love the eery mood that the color helps create. The lightning tendrils that head off horizontally also lend to that mood. Very cool!

Man, these sunset lightning shots are so cool. I also like the cloud movement in this as well. :toast:

This image is shocking! (I know, I know  ) That light on the clouds is so nice.

Nice Todd.

They say that lightning never strikes the same place twice, but I'll bet if you were standing under that little spot, you'd be peeing your pants in those two minutes.

That is terrific Todd!!! You and those clouds really know how to work well together.

Very dramatic!
The peaceful, pastel clouds provide a superb counterpoint to the angry bolts.

This is just too cool! Well done!

Todd,

I have too agree with everyone. Awesome shot! Really cool looking clouds.

Todd,
I like how you kept the foreground black to anchor the rest of the shot. Great job, and I really like the color and movement of the clouds, too.

Great execution! Or is that electrocution? Love the light around the cloud, it really helps to isolate it from the night sky. How did you manage to find a spot without telephone/electric poles, buildings, fences, etc.?
