Loveland Pass Sunset
Hey everyone. I haven't posted in quite a while. It's been a very difficult year for getting out to do photo trips but I finally traveled a little bit in July for a couple shoots. Here is one from a Loveland Pass sunset about three weeks ago. The glow only happened for about two minutes due to clouds on the western horizon, but I was thankfully able to capture it. It was breezy too accounting for the lack of reflection and blowing grass, but I kind of like the effect.
Nikon D300, Sigma 17-35mm lens, ISO 200, two exposures combined.

Pretty nice Josh. I like the composition, but the color seems a little flat. Can you add some contrast to the sunlit section and see if that jumps out a bit more.

I like the s-curve the bank creates, leads the eyes upto the peaks well!. I agree with Mel, the colours need a bit more punch!.

Thanks for the comments. I agree. This also looked dark on another monitor I looked at it on after I posted. I've brought up the midtones and added some contrast and saturation.

Great mood, Josh. I think id go in between your two versions, to preserve some of the peaceful mood, which favors a subdued approach.

Great repost! Love the light on the mountain and you have great details in the shadows as well.

Sweet shot! I really like the simplicity of lines and colors of the comp.
