I already posted this in ess, but didn't formally thank Brett Deacon for showing me this spot.
Thanks buddy

Benjamin.. great job here!!! It is a strong photograph!! Simple but very very beautiful!! I like minimalistic approach here in your shots in your website!! Great place here!! The stillness of the water and of the place are easily conveyed. Great job!! regards, Rajeev

Hey Ben! Good to see some of the results from the morning I shot with you guys. That was a pretty cool tarn. I like how you were able to get the alpenglow on both sides of the range here. Nicely done. I was only able to get it on Medicine Bow Peak in my comp at the lake a little bit lower. Cheers.
Hey, Josh-good to hear from ya. This definitely was a really cool spot. I am curious though to see the shots that you got from your sunrise spot. Have you uploaded them on your website? You should post 'em at some point.

Sweet shot Ben! I love the kiss of light on the edges of the mountain. I'm assuming you took this with your 12-24 lens at the widest setting? I recall being envious with how much better this scene looked through your viewfinder than on my camera with my 17-50mm lens. I enjoyed meeting you and had a great time with you, Brent, and Jimmy. I'm sorry I couldn't spend more time with you guys. Let me know if you have more pics to share!
I actually walked right by that tarn this morning while shooting the moonset. A few DSLR snaps are toward the bottom of this page: http://www.brettdeacon.com/gallery.php?gallery=SnowyRangeJuly2008. I arrived there half an hour before sunrise to find a crazy red glow on the Snowies thanks to some intensely red clouds on the eastern horizon. I barely had time to set up my camera before it disappeared, leaving me with the usual cloudless summer sky (albeit one with a setting full moon). Grrr.
Wow, Brett, that first moon shot with the purplish light is really sweet! Did you get that with your 4x5? Oh, and that image I took was with my Canon 10-22mm lens. The shot posted above was from a couple days after our hike out there. I actually posted an image in the ESS gallery thats from our morning out there. Oh and by the way, did you lose a silver shade cloth for your 4x5 perchance?? I was hiking around the top of the Lakes Trail shooting the columbines and found a silver shade cloth. I gave it to Brent because I don't have a use for it, and if it was yours, he could send it to you.

You guys rock! Brent found the missing Fujinon 240 A lenscap I must have dropped the morning I photographed with you, and you found the darkcloth I left on the Lakes Trail the week before. Thanks!!!
