Hi All,

Does anyone know why I cannot view RAW images taken with a 1D MK3 via RAW Shooter essentials ( a programme I use with no problems usually) I can view the images "in camera" also I can open them up and view them in Lightroom ( a programme I personally do not like and find it difficult to use). Bit baffled by this.

Any help would be great

Regards

Rob

RAW Shooter is an old program in relation to the camera Rob and hasn't been upgraded since it was bought out by Adobe

I imagine that's your problem

As regards Lightroom. I think it's a really good program and honestly quite straightforward to use. I would persevere if I were you as it's worth it in the end :smile

Hi Barrie,

Thanks for the reply.

Will give Lightroom a go, although just downloaded Breezebrowser and can view them fine in there too and it works much more like RSE. so I may find that easier to get to grips with.

Cheers

Hi Rob, I agree with Barrie as I used Rawshooter until it was bought by Adobe and yes your camera would not be recognised by it.I use lightroom 1.3 and find it very good, waiting to hear about the new version
Regards
Richard.

Hi Rob,
I had same problem, dated software but new camera. View them using Canon software supplied with the 1D3 then transfer them to photoshop or as you've discovered a udated version of Breezebrowser.

Mk3 thumbnails can look fine in Breezebrowser, when in fact they are not sharp.

I have lightroom 2 and it was worth the upgrade for the grad function alone. It now truely is a lightroom as I can do most anything I could have done in my darkroom (when it existed ) and a lot easier.

I think RAWshooter has promoted itself to the PS CS3 raw converter. It has some very handy features which I recognise. Some people were a bit arsey about upgrade CS2 to CS3 Personally I'm finding it worth every penny. Bridge on CS3 has ready stepped up to the mark and largely makes lightroom redundant according to my workflow guru.
Personally haven't the foggiest :frown: Peter
