I'm headed out to Moab in a few weeks and was hoping I could get an idea of some must see and photograph spots. We won't have a 4X4 so getting into much of Canyonlands NP won't be possible so most of our trip will be in Arches NP and in the Island in the Sky part of Canyonlands. Thanks in advance-Hali

Here are some photo tips for Arches Park and a BLM Guide to Rock Art around Moab to help get you started. Visiting/photographing ancient rock art is a great way to spend time during the times of day when light is flat, and all of these locations are quite close to Moab.

I highly recommend buying Laurent Martre's book titled 'Photographing the Southwest-Southern Utah' to help you organize your trip. You won't regret it.

Best of luck on your trip!

I strongly second John's suggestion of studying Martre's book. It is invaluable and will give you lots of places to explore.

When you get to Moab, stop in at Tom Till's gallery. That will give you a few ideas and it is an enjoyable stop.
