I am really digging the DOF in this, as well as the very vivid colors of the flowers. The only real nit that I have is some of the flowers and buds being a tad cut off but this is a beautiful shot regardless.

Wow, beautiful composition and effective use of DOF. It bothers me just a little that the mid-left bud is cropped off, but the rest of the image is so strong I can get over it :)
Amazing color, detail, and exposure.

Thanks all! Yep, I wish I had backed off about an inch. It really would have given the buds much more room to breathe.
Ned, you know it man! Alsaka here I come! Woohoo! Oh, and many, many thanks for letting me borrow the lens for the trip. I hope to get some good shooting in.

I really think you nailed this one Eric, one of the better "non-crammed" shots I've seen. The exposure and color are perfect, and I really like how the eye is anchored by the big bloom, but complemented by the others. This is a strong enough shot that the bud doesn't bug me that much. (Also, when I've played with shots like this, I've sometimes had trouble with cutting off a new bud when I back up to fully include the old.)
