This is gorgeous! Reminds me of home, I'm originally from Wausau, now transplanted to Alaska. Great first post! Cheers. :toast:

Agreed! VERY NICE color. Have you tried cropping to produce another image? Possibly eliminating sky and/or concentrating on the center? Might be worthwhile if you have sufficient megapixels.

OK, now here's another place for me to visit in a couple of months - GREAT PHOTO!

Welcome Darren. Cool looking area, and very nice color and light. I'm not a huge fan of the clearings (fields?), but there's not much you can do about that I suppose. I especially like the river bend in the lower right.

So I have to ask...what's the scoop on your Texas blog(s), and then a photo of Wisconsin? Inquiring minds want to know.

"so I have to ask...what's the scoop on your Texas blog(s), and then a photo of Wisconsin? Inquiring minds want to know."

Simply put, I get the opportunity to travel there on a fairly regular basis for work. Seems none of my peers ever want to visit the "Wisconsin Rivera" in January. So I go.

Still most of my images are in Texas, so I have a blog on it. Then again I also blog wherever my camra is set up at http://thetravelingcamera.blogspot.com/

Anyway, I take any chance I can to get to the north woods. I'll post a few of my favorites for everyone to see.

Thanks for the follow up Darren, that makes perfect sense. Sounds like a great opportunity you have. The big bend area is incredibly beautiful (I was only there once), and certainly a very different place than the upper midwest...glad to have you participating!
