Hi all
I need to get out and shoot some birds this weekend to test some equipment. I really do not want to cross the bay bridge, sitting in traffic is not my idea of fun. Any tips on the DC side of the bridge (VA is ideal, MD ok) to have a decent shot at seeing some birds? Or even out towards the west, SNP or north into Maryland?

thanks
Joyce

I'm not much of a birder, but I do live in northern Virginia and know a couple of decent spots close by Joyce :

Huntley Meadows - Boardwalk and marsh area as well as forest. I've always found RWBBs and Canada Geese in addition to a variety of other birds depending on water level.

Dyke Marsh - Along the banks of the Potomac...I've seen Gulls, Egrets, Herons as well as some others here
