I guess the topic line says it all. I'm wondering how many of the fine photogs and post-processors here use a Wacom tablet when working in Photoshop? Or do most of you use a mouse? Thanks!

Wacom here -- once you start you will never go back.

I had one around 2000 or so but always gravitated back to the mouse, I don't use one now. They are probably much improved over the version I had which was 6x8 size. Right now, I don't have enough desktop space to use one.

I tried one once and found it to be an acquired taste....one that I never could quite enjoy.

I use one for fine photoshop work, also still use a mouse for general work.

I use the small Wacom Intuos 3 4x5 tablet. I find it very useful for detailed PS editing, you have much more control over a using a mouse. I still use a mouse 95% of the time for the majority of the commands.

I use a 6x9 Wacon tablet 100% of the time. I'd used tablets for digital brushwork since the early 90s; in 2003 the carpal tunnel syndrome on my mouse (right) hand finally got bad enough I switched completely to using the tablet with my writing (left) hand. Now, I'd never go back to using a mouse.

And for painting masks, retouching, etc. using a mouse is a joke compared to a tablet and stylus. (The new Adjustment Brushes in Lightroom are excellent with a tablet.)

As others have mentioned it can take some getting used to, but I bet some have forgotten that using a mouse had a learning curve too.

And don't forget using the keyboard, too! There are lots of tasks that are best done with an input device other than the mouse.

Cool. I've been thinking about getting one. Maybe I'll put that on my Christmas list. :) Thanks!
