Here's an interesting image from the "Rockhouse" in Hocking Hills State Park, Logan, OH. Because of the extreme contrasts I found the entire Hocking Hills area quite challenging. This was shot quickly, but wouldn't it be nice to combine two different images exposed for highlights and shadows?
Wouldn't it also be nice if people were decent enough to not deface stone walls in natural areas (seems a common problem from my experience)? It's completely senseless.
Anyhow...Yes, I think you'd certainly need to combine exposures here to make the most of the situation. I'm not sure of your exposure here, but if you've retained the highlights in the RAW file, you could double process it. Also, while the figure adds scale, I find the fact that he's blurry to be distracting. I know...I'm demanding ! Very cool area, I'd really enjoy spending some time here.

I've spent time at the Rockhouse myself and find it to be a very interesting place. Joel's point regarding the graffiti is perfectly stated. Aside from that a blended exposure here is a great idea and really the only way to capture the mixed light.
