This nice lady informed me that the flowers are blooming quite nicely right now. I'm headed up there Friday night for a Saturday morning sunrise shoot.
Just thought I'd pass that info along. Who knows? Hopefully might run into a few of you up there. I'll be the guy who is still stuck in the stone age with his LF camera and will be paying for it when hiking at elevation!
My wife is up there for work right now and called last night to say "you need to get up here". If we didn't have plans this weekend, that's where we'd be. Looking forward to seeing pics from folks.

Yeah...it is pretty amazing. I was plodding around there the past few days at Paradise and all I can say is "wow". Check where the trail levels out on the Dead Horse Creek Trail. I didn't have the "best" weather to get the full mountain with any sort of interesting sky, but when the clouds closed in around me, it forced me to look only at the flowers - and that wasn't such a bad thing. I really didn't want to come back to Kentucky.

I may very well run into you Kosta. Me, Trevor Anderson and a third friend are planning on making the 1am drive. We'll be the bunch with the canon gear running past you up the trail.

One other thing...plan to be eaten alive by mosquitos. I think there may be more of them than flowers.

What? No offer to help me with my gear? I'm planning on hiking up Mazama Ridge at 4:30. Sunrise is a bit after 6.

I have thought about that as I've been hearing horror stories. I bought some mosquito net gear for my head. The only thing that will be exposed will be my hands. Hopefully that will work.
