We will pick a weekend fo rthe outing in the next few days.
In any case here is some information on lodging in the Rangeley area:
Saddleback Motor Inn
http://saddlebackmotorinn.net/
A newly expanded and renovated inn with a pool and restaurant.
Town and Lake Motel
http://www.rangeleytownandlake.com
Has both cabins and rooms available. No restaurant, but a short distance from several.
Loon Lodge
http://www.loonlodgeme.com/
Very nice lodge on the lake.....a bit pricey perhaps. Serves dinner only.
There are several B&B's in the area if anyone would like info on those please let me know and I will post the names and contact info.

Has anything further come along about a meetup?
I plan to spend most weekends shooting, from north to south, starting mid september into late october. Where, I'm not set yet, but working this in would be fantastic if possible. My only set backs are I need to work the Saturday of Columbus day weekend, and am leading a hiking trip one other weekend for my school...otherwise...SHOOTING...
My first trip will be at an RMC shelter for alpine autumn, overnight and hopefully shooting dusk and dawn on Adams and Madison. Anyone feeling particularly adventurous??? Perhaps this weekend or the 20-21?
Since Nick lives in Rangeley I am going to let him pick a place to meet Friday night and tell everyone via a reply to all on this forum.
Agenda:
Saturday AM - a place of Nick's choosing for landscapes that will include foliage and if a Moose happens to show up, well I guess we could take that shot as well.
Saturday afternoon - We will meet Garth to head up north onto the timber road somewhere north of Rangeley. He is going to see if we can get to Grand Falls from the Rangeley side of the dead river. There is a gat eon the forest road but he think there is a way around it. If we can not get to Grand falls we will visit some other places on those roads.
Saturday Night - Nick will designate a eatery
Sunday AM - we will go to the place of Nick's choice that we did not get to on Saturday morning.
Expect waterfalls, streams, and landscapes all with the threat of good fall color!
and as I said if a moose insists on being in a picture we should accomodate them. . .
The are alot bigger than we are!!

If it was the weekend before I'd hook right up with you.
What is the agenda for the weekend? Are we meeting Friday evening?

I'd try to find a place for my pop-up camper. It looks like there are campgrounds nearby; too bad the state park is now closed.
