Stormy Longs (w/repost)
This is from the tail end of last weekends stormy weather. I'm thinking of doing some of these as B&W. Any comments on the image or the treatment are welcome.

Thanks!

I love the composition here with the mountain peeking out from the clouds.

I'm not much of a B&W kind of guy but I'll offer my two cents anyway. I think a small bump in contrast in the clouds would add a lot of drama to the sky.

Cheers,

Are you saying this is NOT black & white? Cool shot.

Ha ha Todd, I should have added, "...like this one."

Thanks for the comments so far everyone. Mark, I think your suggestion is a good one and I'll definitely work that a little bit.

Great and unusual shot of Longs. Where did you take it from?

Looks like this is shot from the Trail to Dream Lake?. I really like the B&W treatment, alot of drama to the comp. with those clouds!.

I too like this shot. It is very "dramatic" with the lighting and clouds. Nice original shot of Longs Peak.

Fantastic and dramatic image, Bob. :toast:

Superb shot, Bob - the dramatic weather and dusting of snow give it a lot of wonderful mood, and you've got a really nice perspective here. Not sure about the blueish tint, but that's personal preference.

Excellent capture Bob. Definitely post any reworks. I like the cloud suggestion, as well.

Great shot, Bob. I agree about the contrast boost but you already have lots of nice drama going on. I also like the shadow detail at the bottom. It anchors the image nicely.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions!

This was taken from the Forest Canyon Overlook area on Trail Ridge Road last Sunday morning. They didn't open TRR until sometime after 9:00am. I set my camera up and waited about 45 minutes for the clouds to move off the peak. Later, when I was coming back down, the cloud bank had completely dropped below the peak and didn't look like it was going anywhere, so I felt pretty fortunate to have been there at the right time.

This one has a little contrast tweak. Any thoughts?

The tweak is subtle, but helpful, Bob. This is one of my favorite Longs shots.
