I have a couple of road trips coming up and thought I would put out a call for suggestions and interested individuals.

Next week I'll be in the Portland area on Wednesday and Thursday (Aug 27 and 28). Any suggestions for best locations to hit this time of year? I'm willing to drive an hour or two out from the city or even up to Rainier for an overnight. Anyone interested in going out to shoot with me either of those days?

I am also planning on taking a fall photo road trip in September or October, depending on the location. I'm going to spend 7 to 10 days out there shooting and I'm looking for a second who wants to come along? My usual trip mates all have other commitments this year. I'd be interested in going anywhere in the western US and don't mind hiking in to locations. Camping in my VW camper van is cheap and splitting gas with a second would make it even more affordable.

Suggestions for western fall locations? I have done the Colorado aspens a couple of times already.

Anyone interested can contact me at sean@outdoorexposurephoto.com.

Wish I could join for the fall color expedition. Probably won't work this year since my wife is in school to become a teacher and so I'm responsible for keeping my daughter on track.

I think Rainier would be your most productive destination if you are here.... the flowers will be maybe past prime in some areas, but I'm positive there will still be many beautiful shots and tons of flowers that are not currently opened since they were snowed in late... I think Mount Hood bear grass is past prime and Mount Saint Helens is looking pretty bland without any snow on the mountain in many places.....

Good luck !!

Sean,
I have a full day one on one workshop scheduled on Wed and 1/2 day ( done at noon on Thursday) this week. I'm free Thursday afternoon and Friday if you want to stay around?

Shoot me an email jack@jackgrahamphoto.com

Hi Sean,

I'll be around both days. I don't know about "best" locations this time of year, but any of the hikes in the Gorge are usually good. I'd be happy to get out and do some shooting.

I've been thinking of going out to the Tetons/Yellowstone this fall or the 4 corners/Mesa Verdi/Chaco canyon area.

Hi Sean,

I'm off Weds PM if you're looking for something quick. You never know, the Gorge or the beach, usually has something for everyone!

Kevin

Email if interested.

Thanks for the suggestions and offers! I think I will take John's advice and head up to Mt. Rainier. I'll probably stop over in Portland Tuesday night, cruise past Trillium Lake at sunrise on Wednesday and then head up to camp at Rainier Wednesday and Thursday night. I have to be in Seattle on Friday. If anyone would like to connect at any of these locations/times, let me know.

Edward, thanks for the Tetons and/or 4 corners suggestion. I'll get in touch if it looks like I'm heading in one of those directions.
