This is an image taken at a wetland area of Mill Creek MetroParks, Youngstown. The heron isn't as sharp as I would have liked, so big prints of the scene aren't possible. The purple flowers (Loosestrife) have, unfortunately, now taken over the wetlands.
Scott, I like the wildlife-in-environment leitmotif of this image.
I'm wondering about a bit of a crop from the top, perhaps to the point just below the visible tree trunk in the upper left-hand quadrant of the frame. This would eliminate a few bright and slightly distracting elements and move the heron from the center of the image. Just a thought; I very much like the inclusion of the bright blooms and their reflection.

Kerry, I think your crop suggestion is a good one. Not sure why that did not occur to me. Thanks. I also decided to remove some of the blue. Here's the revised version. Better?
Scott, the original definitely looked too blue to me but I didn't make mention of that in my initial reply because I'm viewing this on an uncalibrated monitor...so take color-related comments with a large grain of salt. FWIW, if anything (and remember the above caveat) the repost still looks a bit too cyan--not really blue--to me.

Scot--I ike the repost a lot. If that heron was about 3' to the right! I just calibrated my monitor today & the color looks great!

The crop works very well, Scott, and I agree with Jack...the color of the repost looks good on my calibrated monitor, although you could possibly remove a touch more of the blue/cyan.

cool pic, scott. I kind of like the look of the water from the first post, and the look of the trees from the second. To my eye, I think if you used the color balance tool in photoshop and went +100 red and about +30 green, you get something that looked pretty natural. However, I think the slight blueness of the first image suggests a light fog or haze which would be fun to try and accentuate also. There's more to life than balanced color...
