Cuckoo ( juvenile )
Hi to all,

This juvenile Cuckoo has got to be the most difficult bird I've ever photographed, almost impossible to get close to, as soon as I'd get within a 100ft of it off it would fly, this particular shot took some serious sneaking through the undergrowth

Not a great deal I could do about the twigs covering the bird, I knew if I broke cover the Cuckoo would fly, this is a first for me so I'm quite pleased with it.

Funnily enough, a friend of mine asked me only yesterday if I'd ever photographed a Cuckoo, I have now Lee !!!, how strange life is

Very well done Andrew, the adults are just as spooky, unless your just lucky and in the right place. The twigs are fine as far as I am concerned.....

excellent shot certainly one of the hardest common birds, the twigs aren't a huge problem considering

Not an easy species to get a shot of, nice work.

Andy

Yeah I like it. It captures the jiz of the bird, the eye is particularly good and the foliage adds.

Thank you for sharing.

Perhaps a little off the right and a bit more on the top?
Lovely shot though.

Hi Andrew,

This is very nice indeed! Really nice colours and composition, I also like the perch. Maybe tomorrow you will get the host parent sitting on it's back feeding it!!

Nice shot

Rob

Great achievement in my book. I have to admit that the FG twigs would be a major frustration for me if it were mine, but I would be very glad to have it all the same. I like the perch - it has lots of character and detail. I would perhaps try adding top and left rather than cutting out the wire. I admit that it would lose impact at this size though.
