Canadian Rockies
Here’s an image from my recent (and first) trip into the Canadian Rockies. It is an amazingly beautiful place, almost to the point of being overwhelming. This is a shot of Bow Lake taken from the Bow Glacier Falls Trail.

Comments and critiques please.

Canon 5D, Sigma 28mm-70mm EX, and polarizer.

This is an unusual take on the lake. I really like the colours and the light. The Rockies can indeed be very overwhelming...glad you got to enjoy them!

Yea what a nice view !! The closest rocks seem to have a bit of an HDR effect and I see a sky halo at the bottom of the sky - especially on the lower Left side of the mountain..... still a beautiful scene and I hope you take the time to clean this up a little more. It's very nice.

David,
The trip I took up there left me breathless. This is a very beautiful shot but like John said, it could use some more processing. The fore ground rocks have that shadow/highlight tool look that may have been a little over used.

Nice shot Dave. Quite a unique view of Crowfoot mountain and the lake. Glad to see you are posting some of your images. Can't wait to see more!

This is really cool. I love the composition, and the hard line of the distant shore, as well as the somewhat darker exposure of the sky and mountain.
The only thing that stands out to me is a bit of an odd HDR effect on the FG rock face. It almost looks like a tad bit too much of either the Shadow/Highlight recovery tool, or else too much Localized Contrast Enhancement there. It's 1/3 stop too bright more or less
Regardless, I really love this image
