As I mentioned in my ESS post, I am getting exciting about the approaching fall season. Now that I have proper scanner IT8 targets, I have been rescanning a few images. I made this one two years ago on Rush creek, along the June lake loop.
It was really windy that day and I got this in more or less a lull. The trees on the right are still in motion, but most everything else was still. I stood in this spot waiting for a long, long time and this was as calm as it got. I came back the next day when it was calm, but it was a sunny day and the area looked completely different and not nearly as appealing to me.
Comments, critiques and recommendations are most welcome.
Viva la autumn!

Harley, this is just beautiful. I really love the center 'hourglass' shape between those fall color trees, and the soft light creates quite a nice feeling. Shame a few of the leaves on the right are a tad blurry from the wind, but its barely noticeable, at least at this web size.
Another awesome fall inspiring scene here, Harley. It seems as though it will be no time now before it is upon us again. As always, looking forward to the season, and of course all the follow up images from the CANP members too.

Very nice capture, I love the fall colors, the slight movement of right trees don't bother me at all,its barely noticable, sometimes you have to take what nature throws at you

Harley,
You know I like this - it simply sums up my impressions of the area I've visited so many times - in fact I have an image from this same location taken 10yrs ago.
I really like the framing of the autumn colors on either side. Rush creek is presented nicely and I also like the inclusion of the steep, rocky slope in the background. It all melds together for an excellent composition.
Harley,
This is just spectacular! Th fall colors frame the river and really create a wonderful mood. Well done. Can't wait to hit the East Site this Fall. Best Regards.

Gorgeous! This reminds of Fall in CO.
I can hear the wind blowing through the Aspens and feel the Fall chill in the air. Wait a minute this was taken in CA. Maybe there was no chill in the air? But the Sierras are true mountains of beauty either way!
I thought CO had the corner on the market for 4x5 landscape shooters. One of our moderators even has his own drum scanner. And every Christmas time at our shindig/slide show he tempts me with the results in large prints.

Do we have a choice?
Harley: I really like this. It all ties together very nicely and the color balance (from an aesthetic standpoint) is just right. Nicely done.
I am ready for the Fall! East Side...Here I come!
