Puffin in Flight
one from Sumburgh head on Shetland, not terribly good at flight shots so quite happy with this pose and position, as it is slightly different from the traditional flying straight at you. suppose i could crop it but i quite like it as is

40D + 300mm F4L
1/4000 @ F4
ISO 320
full frame

The bird is absolutely spot on ! Excellent.
I reckon though that if it was up a bit and to the left it would sit better in the frame.
Definately a bit off the top would help.
Great shot though.

looking at it, it comes out too small in the frame at 720, so here is a cropped one

Very nice, and the grey rocky bg complements the image, nice slight head turn, i like the repost.

Hi Jack,

Boy O boy, you have had a productive trip!! The cropped version works for me all day. Tack sharp and colours are really good. Spot on exposure with details in the blacks and white's. The BG could not be better either.

Well done Jack, great shot!

Regards

Great shot the second one for me and a flight shot just my cup of tea.

Superb detail on a very difficult subject. My choice would be for the original image.

You're too modest Jack... an excellent flight shot with great control of the exposure.
