Photographed on a very rough Pelagic today off Inishboffin Ireland today. Never photographed from pitching boat so about ten of 300+ photos sharp!! I was fairly sick as well.

Ah, photography from boats now that brings back memories - as does Inishboffin. Its hard to get good images of these in flight so this is a good shot and well worth the revisited breakfast.

Great Shot!
Do you mind if I ask you to fill in few details, I've never been on such a trip, but feel the need! How close do you get to the birds, by example, this is with ef400, i'm used to doing a fair crop with a 500 and a 1.4x on, how much of a crop is this? Also how many species did you see?
Thanks for shareing Criag, I find this kind of shooting very inspirational.
Regards
Chris

Hi Chris
We saw Great Skua, Sooty Shearwater, Great Shearwater,Gannets, Manx Shearwater, Fulmer, Storm Petrels and Wilson's Petrel. All of the above close enough for full frame photos except the manx shearwater.
Here is a link to a report about a pelagic off Co Donegal last year. http://www.birdsireland.com/pages/site_pages/features/pelagic2.html
This will give you some idea of what it is like.
