Hey, if a curmudgeon like Bob Atkins is willing to call this myth plausible, I'd say we're in for some news very soon.

But how about a 5D replacement, Canon? It's been 3 years, which, judging by today's technology, is about 2 years too many!

Let the rumor-mongering commence...

The dpreview forums are all over this right now. We should know something in a few days. I'm a Canon shooter, but I'm curious to see Sony's new camera.

I've been wanting to buy a back-up camera to my Mark II and this just might be it. Anyone have $1300 I can borrow? :jump:

Hmm, at what point is the shot noise on the sensor just too much for the pixel size??? Pixels just can't get smaller without suffering from noise, I don't care how good your "de-noising" is!

Canon are claiming a significant improvement in microlenses and photosites which should allow a leap in pixel density without a loss in image quality. If you want to see how it does, they have some sample images on their site.

I had been eyeing a new DSLR and this one would probably get me to upgrade, but I've got something better on the radar.
