Charging over the ridge
I stopped by Florisant Fossil Beds on the way home from Breckenridge this weekend. I don't think I've been there in at least a dozen years, but I've found good reason to go back.

Another shot across the valley watching the clouds build. This is Boulder Creek BTW.

And I thought I'd share a photo from Breck showing the tundra starting to move towards it autumn hues. This tarn was about the maximum altitude at which it is still green. As you head higher, most of the tundra was turning red, tan or gold as you can see on the far shore. This is just meant as a documentary shot, so I'm not looking for any critique on it, just sharing some info.

That's a really pretty patch of grass in the second image. Someplace to explore for sure.

I like your third shot the Mel. That's a nice composition. Looks like some intense clouds building in Florisant. Were those taken on Sunday night?

The Florisant shots were taken on Sunday afternoon around noon.

One of these days I've got to get up to Mohawk to shoot sunrise. I keep finding nice compositions in the lakes and tarns up there, but I always go up to Breckenridge with my wife to relax.

I don't usually think about the fossil beds and surrounding meadows compositionally. Maybe because they are so close. Your shots gave me some ideas. Mohawk lake looks interesting.
