This image was taken about a month ago, 5 min. from my former residence in St. Cloud Minnesota. While essentially in the middle of the city, I isolated this intimate scene during a spontaneous photo outing. I just had my digital SLR with, since I didn't really have a clue of what to expect for compositional opportunities (I couldn't have captured this in time with my 4x5 unfortunately). While it can't be printed very large according to my tastes, I'm quite happy with the image. Hopefully I can get a better digital camera in the future for such opportunities. As always, thanks for looking.

Technicals: Olympus E-500, 14-45 @ 45mm, f11

Nice shot Joel - it took me a couple of seconds to arrange all the elements in my head and understand what I was looking at, but that's a good thing. Now go get one of those medium format, handheld, 45 MP digital outfits so you can print this big. All you have to do is sell your car, house, and possibly first born.....!

Joel, you got me with the title, and then my head exploded trying to find a (typical) view! Nice capture, it shows how important it is to look down sometimes. Excellent. BP

I like the shot. The comp and colors are great. I would have probably cloned out the junk in the water.

I like the comp and pastel colors.

Wonderful image, Joel! It certainly would make people take a second look before noticing that the clouds are actually reflections.Excellent exposure and comp!

Really thought-provoking, Joel. Excellent use of the reflected clouds in what would otherwise be negative space.
