Barn owl
This one I also shot during the workshop Birds of Prey.
It's a barn owl.

I can't rememeber the settings exactly (I'm on location at the moment)but I think :
500mm
F4
1/800
Little cropping

C&C welcome. Thanks

Very nice portrait Tom. I'd normally think it was a bit tight at the top but it does seem to work on this one. Only minor nit for me would be to remove the pale highlight in front of the birds chest.

Hmm BG is ok, sharpness is good and low noise, bird has good colour but the grass is a bit neon green to me, I think the image needs a different crop and it's a shame the bird was in shadow.

I think its due to the face being mainly in shadow and only a little light in the eyes.

I agree with paul, I must admit, it would definitely have benefited from more light in the face. Otherwise I like it.

Hi Tom,

I agree with Paul, other than that lovely shot!

Find it a little tight at the top, but otherwise looks great

Very nice picture, but I think it is a bit tight in the frame. To give it a bit more space (if possible) would be worth it.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the comment. I do agree with the cropping but I had the choice to make it a little tight on the top or to do some photoshop work(modifiying the picture) because ther was a big dark spot in the photo caused by somebody sitting in the grass behind the bird. I choose for the cropping, may be not the right choice this time.
