I took this on a very foggy Sunday morning a couple weeks ago at the Konza Prairie. This is my first attempt at this quantity of fog. I'm not sure on the white balance and overall color. The sun had just risen when I took this image, which is a blend of 4 images. C&C always welcome and appreciated, thanks for looking.

I think this is a very nice image. The color seems fine to me. I like the way the fog snakes its way into the background. Beautiful.

Hey Rob, I agree with Glenn - the color is fine. It shows the shades of white and grey that comprise the elements of most fogs. The sharp foreground is a nice balance to the softer foggy areas.
My wife says she is still waiting for a really good shot of a golden wheat field... She was raised in the Great Bend and Winfield areas.

I like the image as is Rob, gives an accurate account of fog wrapping through the valleys. I'm a little surprised to see some cultivation on the Konza prairie though. Is this shot from the area managed by KSU et.al.?
Also, you mentioned this was a 4 shot blended image. Why was that necessary? Looking forward to seeing many more from the Konza.

Merle, I keep missing prime wheat season :(, either due to the weather or other commitments. Do you ever come back to the Great Bend area?
Wayne, the fog is laying over land that isn't part of the Konza Prairie. I took this from a high hill at the northern edge of what I think of as the Konza Prairie overlooking the valley below. I was shooting multiple exposures all morning, so when I was processing this one last night, I used all 4 exposures. Looking closer at the RAW files, I should be able to get away with only 1 or 2 images. Most of my shots that morning held sky, which is why I was shooting multiple exposures.

Hey Rob, No we don't get out there very often. Everyone is gone from the family. Sherry lived with her parents in the basement of her Great Aunt and Uncle's farm outside of Albert when she was small. We have the old stove from the basement of the farmhouse that her mother cooked on in the mid 40's. The last time we were in the area was in the late 90's when we obtained the stove from the current owners of the farm. Her dad talks about farming the Cheyenne Bottoms in the early 40's and all of the rattlesnakes they used to pull up with the discs.

Hi Rob,
Wonderful job on this capture of the Konza Prairie, the layering of the fog is really nice.
