The Tetons from the Buffalo Plateau
I'm just back from nine days backpacking down the Yellowstone River and the Buffalo Plateau.
We hiked 75 miles, half of it not on trails, saw 2 people, 5 grizzlies, 2 elk, many deer and mtn sheep.
The Tetons in this photo are about 60 or 70 miles away, 2 or three days away from any trailhead. The area is known as the most remote spot in the lower 48 states.

Mark,
Sounds like one heck of a trip. Nothing like a little solitude.

Yes, nothing like a little solitude. When i use to hunt elk, which wasnt much, i'd get off work and rush over to the bethel ridge area and stay a week at most, but i noticed it took me at least a day to unwind and relax. Then as soon as you were there it was over and as soon as you hit the top of the pass heading down into the seattle area it was chaotic, but then it took about a day to get use to that again also. Funny how your body and mind adjust for the times. Hope your time there was remembered well.
