Lovely viewpoint John with the classic bullrush perch. I've yet to see a kingfisher sit on one! Nicely isolated from the background but still retaining enough detail to give a sense of the environment.

I've yet to see a kingfisher sit on anything, let alone a reedmace flower. Excellent.

I'm in the same boat as David!
Also agree with Robert - I had a fleeting glimpse of a fox this afternoon while sat in a hide for garden / woodland birds
Lovely KF shot too John

I once said at a camera club lecture that if you put a hide up almost anywhere and sat there for 5 hours you would get something !
I still think that.

The bird stands out clear but still one can see there a bit from the environment. I like this.
I keep this camera club lecture in my mind John, for when I get retired.
have fun

Nice one John.... had one similar some time back, if inclined I might try to get rid of the darker patches in the bg, but that really is minor....
