Kittiwakes feeding
This was one of my favourite moments from Svalbard as I do really like to take images showing animals in their environment. These Kittiwakes and Gulls were feeding in front of this Glacier as it was calving on a regular basis which creates a perfect feeding environment for animals further down the food chain.

Hi Danny,

Cracking image! I guess it is one of those that needs to be seen bigger to be appreciated.

Did you organise the trip yourself or via another means?

Lovely shot Danny! I like environmental shots too, and this one is great. Is that a black guillemot hiding at the bottom left? :toast: :toast:

Hi Danny,
I think this is a bit special. I love the combination of birds in flight and birds on the water.
I particularly like that wonderful backdrop with all it's subtle shades of blue.
Having the water as just a thin strip along the bottom of the image works great too.

Hello Chris, I was working as a Guide which was great but I was responseable for the Gun (which you have to carry) and keeping a lookout for Polar Bears (which you have to do), so at times I found it difficult to concerntrate on the photography side. Adam yes it is a black Guillemot so well spotted.

Super shot Danny - that blue ice is just spectacular and I'm glad you comped it with all the visual weight at the top - I'm expecting it to calve any moment.

Nice one :wavey:

Nice timing; no birds overlapping and the two gulls at bottom right with out-stretched wings. Cool

This is a stunning image Danny and I echo all the comments above. I'm having difficulty getting my head around what I am seeing at the interface between the glacier and the water. Is that a long piece of rock with frozen water on it or is it all part of the glacier I which case I am seeing the rock through the glacier?
