I camped out in the vicinity of Mirror Lake in the Uintas last night during the first snowfall of the "season". It was a stormy couple of days, but worth it. I purposely went up there because it was supposed to storm. Here's some images of Mirror Lake as this morning progressed. C&C welcome and thanks for looking.
#1- (uh... no title) The white streaks at the bottom are falling snow. It was tough conditions.

#2 Low Contrast. The low contrast was deliberate. I liked the mood.

#3 Black and White. (sorry for the creative titles)

Whoa! I had no idea the Uintas were getting dumped on this weekend.
I really enjoy every one of these photos, Jeff. The last one might be my favorite, though I'm really digging #3, too. Fantastic work!

I really like 3 and 5. Something calming about the almost monotone colors.

Sweet set of images Jeff! Three and five get my vote.

Nice series, Jeff. 1,2,and 3 really catch my eye though. I love the fog in #2. I can't wait for conditions like this in Colorado.

Cool images! #3 is my favorite. You can almost hear the snow falling. :)

Yes, winter is here. That was a nice first snow storm. I like your series here, Jeff. Pretty exciting stuff.

Very nice series, my Fav's are 3, 4 & 5. You captured a great mood in those first few images!.

#5 is a capture of that awesome moment when the storm lifts. I'd like to see it with more emphasis on the clouds than the reflection though.
I also like the layout of #3. Great comp on that one.

Gorgeous stuff!!! Wow I wish I was there to witness that scene. #2 is a beauty, I also really like #3 and #4. Great stuff.

Jeff, they're all great, but I really like #1 and #3. Nice Work.

That first one is a stunner! It's got postcard written all over it! Great series. The almanac says it's going to be a long, hard winter. Maybe this is a precursor!

These are all really nice.

Great shots - I like 1 and 3 the most. They just have a real feeling of silence and isolation... One of those great times when there typically isn't a soul around for miles... Can't wait to start seeing some more of that weather hit Colorado!

A very nice series Jeff! Thanks for posting these. The water really makes for great winter shots.

Man, how do you pick a favorite out of such an awesome collection of photos?! If forced to, I'd say #3, but they all rock hard.

Awesome collection! Theyre all favorites. You got me ready for winter

My very favorite is #1...the feeling of silence is awesome.

Ahhhh yes, my favorite season - sumfalter.
All of these have great mood, but #3 really resonates with me. Not too foggy, not too clear - just right.
#1 looks like a real winner as well, but at that small size it loses a lot of impact; you really need to post larger on some of these.
Great shooting!

for me the third and 4th ones are killer
Oh yeah and the first one too is sweet
amazing with all that snow there already, just like here a few weeks ago with our snow. I wonder if this is going to be another good snowy season coming up

How cool to be up there in such conditions?! #3 really stands out for me. Excellent tone and composition.
