Nice one Jack. Is this the same otter that was residing under the shed? You must have been over the moon to be able to get this close. Was the otter habituated in any way? I can see some scarring on the nose which seems to indicate an oldish dog, would I be correct in saying that?

Hi Robert yes this is the same one (from the peat shed), it may have been slightly habituated due to it living in a structure used by humans but then it's a pretty big shed and very full of peat which is of course strong smelling, so in answer to if it was habituated i don't know as though it seemed fairly nervous i was suprised (and delighted of course) at how close it was possible to get
yes you're right in saying in saying an old dog otter

Great close up.
I would love to get that close to one. - even in controlled conditions.
I think I like the first of the series the best with the animal not so near.
Cheers
