Gannet and Gull
This was taken from the back of the boat going to the bass rock. The herring gulls had been competing with the gannets for the fish thrown off the boat and when the fish was all gone and the birds were departing I managed to get a pic of a departing immature gannet which was framed by the gulls wing. I have to admit that it was not intentional, I had been concentrating solely on the gannets and it wasn't until I processed the images that I noticed the framing potential.
24-105 mm lens @ 80mm
exp 1/1500 @ f9 iso 320.
full frame cropped top and bottom to create pano.

I like this one, it gives an impression of flying along with them. Nice and very different shot.

all the best shots happen by accident, would give it a bit more space on the top and bottom, but other than that inspiring!
