Summer flowers
Raining today so I grabbed some time to work with a few shots. I caught this in passing the other day but it seems to have been the best of the session. Have been way too busy but will try to get back more often in the future. Olympus E510 70-300 lens at 179mm 6.3 ISO 100 cropped a bit from top & bottom.

Very nice use of light and color. The dark and clean background sets off the flowers effectively. I'd personally be tempted to clone out the protruding leaf/stem along the upper right edge of the frame, given that you weren't concerned with the documentation aspect of the photo. Strong image.

I agree with Joel..... good choice of the DOF!

Kendall

I like the composition and the DOF. I agree with previous posts that the leaf should go. I’m also bothered by the dead flower in the center of the picture. What I usually do is look at the photo in the viewfinder then If I see anything that needs to be removed I do it before I take the picture. In this case I would have moved the leaves and the dead flower out of the frame before taking the picture. Sometimes it is a pain but it might be easier than trying to fix it later.

I like the wilted flower. It makes the composition seem real. Nicely done.

I agree with Ken....the wilted flower is not a problem in this image. Nice DOF and composition, Kendall.

i like the wilted flower also, it makes it real, beautiful light and colors, alot of my photos have some little blade of grass or such as this a dead flower, i hate to see things made to look perfect, its not nature. this is nice.
