Ok, so the aspen haven't turned yet and even at Bear Lake they are 99% green but the tundra is at peak colors. That means it won't be too long till it makes its way down the mountain. Here are a few pics of what's happening.

Oops, I don't have the other photos re-sized right. I'll get them up once the gallery clears.

And another. (Sorry these are so small, the 200kb limit just isn't enough. I wish I could link to larger images and have them show, like I did with the first. It doesn't allow this for replies. :frown:)

Great pics. Its a tough guess, but any idea when we might begin to see some peak colors in Colorado? I am going to the Aspen area on September 21 and I we'll see some decent color then.

Yeah, the 200kb limit doesn't do much for the 740 pixel limit.

Nice close-ups. The crown/water/rock image is very unique.

I love fall in the tundra just as much as mid-summer. Thanks for the visual reminder.

Love the first shot. I didn't get a chance to do much this summer due to other commitments but I'm gonna try and make up for it this fall!

I as well haven't been able to get out as much as I had wanted to due to certain issues that I am still agravated about  and school. but I am planning on getting to Crested Butte (or as I like to call it "Crusty Butt") this fall

That 3rd shot is a winner, and the Arctic Gentian is great also, love the colors.

Thanks for the update Erik, may head up this weekend!. I really like the 3rd shot in your series, colours look pretty good - hopefully that's a sign of things to come ;).

The second one is the one for me! Great colors. I wish I was sitting there right now instead of typing this reply! :toast:

I like the 2nd & 3rd ones best. Wish I could make it out to RMNP this fall to see all this color first hand but isn't likely to happen. I'll have to be content to let you and the other talented locals go shoot and post so I can enjoy (and be jealous)!
