Tunderstorm and alpine chough
Hello friends,
here in Innsbruck which is located about 560m over see we have the opportunity to reach 2500m over see in just about 20 minutes. In summer the Choughs live high in the mountains and in wintertime they come down in the city.
Two weeks ago I have been up there for a hike and was lucky to catch a crowd of them just in front of an upcoming thunderstorm.
As always Canon 20D, EF100-400, freehand, f11, 1/800, 400 converted to BW.
C and C always welcome,
thanks for looking,
Bertl

Bertl, would that be the Stubetal region - I was there this summer and saw a family of chough and lots of snow lark on the top glacier station, but as it was a walking holiday didn't have any long lenses with me......

Hi Bertl,
This is something completely different, but I like it. Although the clouds are dark you can see the dark birds very well.

Just what it's like here near Wigan, minus the choughs. Excellent image.

A refreshingly different image Bertl. I think this has worked really well in B/W.

Excellent shot Bertl. As said already, the black and white works very well - quite Hitchcock-esque!
