Interesting to see this place from the "other side" of the river. I've been to Great River Bluffs State Park in Minnesota, just a couple miles away, but have never been over here. I like the autumn image quite a bit, nice one. I've been thinking of heading down this area when the fall color kicks in this year. The bluffs region is truly a beautiful place. I do wish it was developed a bit less...but what can you do.
Any idea how much Wisconsin charges for daily and yearly state park passes?

Also one of my favorite places to hike. Joel park passes are $35 and $10.

I think I paid $35 for a yearly out of state one. I went to Great River Bluffs too, but I preferred Perrot. Quieter on the Wisconsin side. Several nice hikes in the park plus some nice areas in the neighboring Trempealeau NWR. Both are worth checking out.
And after hiking at Perrot, treat yourself to eating at Ed Sullivans which is a great supper club right next to the entrance to the park. Great food and location overlooking the river.

Looks like a great place for photo ops, Darren!
$35 for a yearly pass? People in MI complain because ours was $24 this year!

I think our Texas passes are $50 for residents so $35 for an out of state Wisconsin pass was cheap. And since it got me quite a few visits, it was money well spent!
$35 is extremely reasonable. Minnesota's yearly pass is $25...in my opinion, that's basically giving it away, specially considering how much I use the park system. Thanks for the info guys!

I will to that, Joel! The only thing that really got me was the fact that when my son came from OH to visit, he also wanted to go see his father, who was camping in a SP near here. It cost him $7 (out of stater) for an hour's visit in the evening....I thought that was a bit much!

I like the comparison from fall to winter. Looks like a nice spot to explore, regardless the cost.

Maybe it's just me, but when you think about how much you spent on all that camera gear; what's another 35 bucks? As long as you can capture some great images... However, 7 dollars per hour is crazy!!!
Nice job Darren! Looks like a great place to hike and shoot.
