The Look of Things to Come (Repost)

I'm currently using Windows Vista and have just calibrated my monitors using the i1 Display unit. I originally processed the image using Canon's DPP with the landscape setting. This image is optimized using Lightroom 2.0. I would appreciate your thoughts as to whether the image now appears more natural on your monitors. Thanks for looking. I'll post the original image first for comparison.

Looks more natural now on my monitor, however I think I now prefer something in between the two :).

I think you just need to add a little curves adjustment to the alpenglow portion of the re-worked image to make it pop a bit more. I suspect you also used a polarizer, which can often give sunrise/sunset skies a very strange cast, as is shown here.
