Peggy and Ellen hiking out of Elk Cove after spending the night.
Check out those flowers!?!?! September 7th!?!?!?
Ellen is 11 and she did great on this trip. She had a pack sized for her and carried all her own clothes, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, a bit of trail food and water.
Probably in October we'll do a three day trip on the Goat Lake loop, north of Mt Adams.

The flowers sure are amazing in the higher elevations right now.....amazing for September though!.
I've heard people complaining about the lack of bloom this year, but I've been amazed by what I've seen around Hood and Mt Jefferson as well.
