I got a good chuckle when I saw somebody post a very similar image on ESS yesterday. And it's even the same waterfall which is even more coincidental.
I took this shot last fall on a visit to Silver Falls State Park. I was a little early for the fall color, so I tried to focus on the detail in this, the North Falls, as the water cascaded over the jagged rocks into the water. At this particular spot, I framed this protrusion as the focal point with mini-cascades surrounding. The lighting subtely highlighted this area of the rock, and I tried to process it accordingly.
I've been sitting on this for a while, unsure about it. I'd appreciate comments....even just yea or nay.

Magical and powerful. I love the contrast and reflective rocks. The comp feels a bit top heavy. My eye is drawn up the falls, but then the falls get cut off at the top leaving me stuck there. I love the dark shadowy feel.

What I like most about this image is the pool. The detail in the rock and water is great too. However, it feels a little tight to me on the right and top. Kind of like chopping the top of someones head off in a shot if you know what I mean. It still has a neat feel to it though.

My kind of image.. I really like this - detail is good - not sure about a crop suggestion, though..

I crop out that little horizontal bit on top. Otherwise, it's a nice, creative shot of, well, you know my feelings on waterfall shots.
Is that a hint of green in the middle left?

Ha, yes I know how you feel about waterfalls. At least I branched out from the overall shot I was stuck on a year ago. Not that this is terribly original.
That is some green there.....very dark moss scattered here and there, but totally soaked, and in the shadows. I tried bringing it out, but too much noise.
